Europe tour...

Rhineland-Palatinate:

Part 2 - on 10/8/15

10/8/15 - Colchem
The Wow! A breath-taking view on a calm river cruise to Colhem, a sunny yellow city-tram ride around the touristic city, a mixture of fun and fear lift chair ride (ermmmm, moi am afraid of the swinging chair ride in the hot stiff mid-air!), many super taste of different wurst a, a delicious bite of Nutella Belgian golden waffle, a confused cacophonous giant chess set, the endless clicks of many awesome pictures on the wide ship deck... Whether you drive or cruise, the grandiosity of the region is like a fantasy! This is a COOL holiday!

A perfect start to a relaxing day - a calm river cruise to Colchem..

I see you... You see me???...

A ride on a yellow city tram,
One can see more than a baby in a pram...

Not a bubble car,
Not a cable car,
Not the London eye capsule,
But the chair lift that goes,
With the cold wind tickling your toes!

Mustard or tomato,
Wurst of all kinds on the go...

A 'wasp' bite? The golden honey glazed Belgian waffle... Laced with sweet succulent summer red strawberries with icing sugar... Yum...

Oops!... The Red Queen shouts, 'off with their heads!'... Definitely not the defiant stoic knight!

Back at home-Beilstein on super time for a delicious cooked-just-right salmon dinner at Lipmann Alte Birtshaus, an immediate follow-on second dinner at Hotel Haus Lipmann.

This is indeed a COOL holiday!

River view entrance...

Market Square entrance...

Next, a much needed Mosel sparkly for chilling out the really hot summer heat... Sipping and watching the vibrant mix of tourists - just the very perfect setting for a mother and daughter intimate bonding.

This is a COOL holiday!

A glass of Mosel wine from Lipmann Weinhaus...

Next, Part 3 at Rhineland-Palatinate... Driving in search for Burg Eltz...

9/8/15

Rhineland-Palatinate:

Part 1

The Wow! Driving into the meandering Morsel river region is just a breath taking view. Such green lushness ever again spotted with sporadic little cosy villages shed protection over the signature vegetation - the vineyards. The heritage vineyards exude their charm as if to say, welcome all to the wine 'Shangrila' of the Morsel River

Beilstein:
Lipmann Haus. Choice of Lipmann at Haus, Apartment, Vineyards - it would have been quite appropriate to name the village Lipmann Village. With the throng of tourists overpowering the number of locals, the kaleidoscope life is a unique influx.

Some nolstagic drink and food from Lipmann.

Lipmann Anja sparkling wine with raspberry sorbet, a must chicken broth of dumplings, Schmaltz: Greasy pork lard...

DRIVE-eat-DRINK Europe tour - 1st leg

Blog 1 - DRIVE-eat-DRINK Europe tour...

Eurotunnel Shuttle:
Wow! My first Eurotunnel Shuttle experience - definitely the choice for a quick France destination.

It is the longest undersea portion of any channel tunnel in the world measuring 50.5 kilometres and 75 metres deep. The Shuttle travels at a speed limit in the tunnel at 160 km/hour (99mph) is but a quick 35-minute journey from Folkstone (UK) to Calais (France).

Brussels, Belgium (1st leg):
COSPAIA stands up to Brussels as a city of fine food. The lovely French-Belgian cuisine restaurant boasts of the best cocktail bar in Brussels.
The alfresco dinner terrace at the roof top adds more attraction - The Hotel, where President Omaha stayed looms ahead.

Le Chatelain Boutique 5* HOTEL:
Everything was too perfect - a smiling doorman, very friendly check-in staff. The night duty man on 8/8/15 was too tired to represent the hotel 5* image. He was snappy and quite rude when we gently complained about the not-cold air condition unit in the room. His unfriendliness was surpassed next day by the efficient check-out staff. When he returned our car for departure, he quietly left two bottles of chilled water in the car. How very kind! What a great save for Le Chatelain.
We are waiting patiently for the hotel manager to respond to our email/feedback re:bad experience. The cold aircond unit of some (many?) rooms must improve especially during summer. We had indeed a very sleepless night. I find it discerning when there is no respond/reply to hotel guests' concern by the manager (or guest relationship team) at any hotels.

At Blog 2 - our next leg at Beilstein,  Germany.
